View Full Version : Problems with force joining and private campaigns

I have set up the affiliate program to force joining campaigns with private campaigns. The process is this:

1) The prospective affiliate fills out application, and chooses which campaign they want (campaign 1 or campaign 2). The signup form has been modified to support this. All it does is include the campaign name in the email that is sent to me. Nothing else is modified.
2) I get an email about their request. I review their website, then go to the merchants panel and approve their application then "invite" them to the campaign of their choice.

All that is working just fine. However, sometimes some affiliates are magically showing up with BOTH campaigns. I would "invite" them for campaign 1 or 2. For a few days they would have just that campaign that I invited them for, and that is all that will show up under APPLIED and AFFILIATES. Then suddenly, by itself, that affiliate might get both 1 AND 2 on both APPLIED and AFFILIATES. I did nothing to cause this. It just magically shows up by itself.

This is very bad. For my system, the two campaigns are RECURRING PERCENTAGE or FLAT PAYOUT. I don't want affiliates on both. If the affiliate is set to both, then the commission applied is random, so sometimes their referrals generate a recurring percentage commission , and sometimes a flat payout. To be on the safe side, I have to manually go through every affiliate and every referral daily to clean this up.

Why is this happening? How can I fix it?

Hello,

Yes we know about this bug, and we are solving it.

This occurs because Affiliate refers your new customers when promoting PRODUCT A, but customer decides to buy PRODUCT B.

So when you have enabled "Forcing choosing commission by product ID" it will create commission for particulat affiliate for product category also when he is not invited to promote it.

The patch for this bug will be available in Patch5 of Post Affiliate Pro.

So if I turn that off (I don't think I need it), will that solve the problem?

Well this will not help you.

If you Disable Forcing comissions by ProductID your affiliates will be able to get comission from lets say PRODUCT B, but they are only allowed to advertise PRODUCT A. So they will get comission for PRODUCT B, but with commission amout defined for PRODUCT A.

I recommend you to write email to: support@qualityunit.com and request temporary patch for this problem until Patch5 will be available.
