As most of us already know, affiliates can be lazy, and will only use a tool if they can simply copy and paste it into their current setup. Many affiliates are also new to running a website and do not know a lot of what needs to be done to have a working promotion.

It is for these reasons primarily that being able to include the Referrer ID for each affiliate in the Resource Pages will help to improve the performance of the whole affiliate program. This way, when an affiliate logs in to get promotional materials, their affiliate URL is already encoded in the materials they are given.

This also gives the merchant the ability to create product-specific promotional material in the Resource Pages. By using a Referrer ID variable, custom links can be created for various aspects of the affiliate program, promoting products, opt-in email lists, or even the affiliate program itself.

It seems that since PAP is already fetching the Resource Pages to include into the templates, that it would be easy to encode a variable to be used in the Resource Pages for this feature.

And somewhat related, another thing that could be added to the Resource Pages feature would be an RSS feed that would automatically include the affiliate's Referrer ID in the content.

With an RSS feed, an affiliate can place the RSS code on their site and the displayed content could be periodically changed by the merchant, or by PAP. The merchant should be able to set PAP to automatically rotate the RSS feed between a particular set of Resource Pages (such as articles) or to a single 'Resource Page' that the merchant changes from time to time.

Thanks.
