Hi, I am having a problem when installing the software. I keep getting the following error even though I have set the write permission, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks...
Error:
Cannot connect to database, check your database configuration. Database returned: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)
'/settings/settings.php' file is not writable

Double-check and make sure your permissions are set for settings.php to CHMOD 666
Make sure permissions for the directory /settings is set CHMOD 755
Make sure permissions for the directory you installed everything in is set CHMOD 755
Also, make sure that when you uploaded settings.php to your server, it was uploaded in ASCII mode (not Binary). This is what usually gets people when they're not looking.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Cannot connect to database, check your database configuration. Database returned: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)
most probably your database is not installed on localhost, or is running on some strange port.
Ask your webhosting support about correct host of MySql database.
'/settings/settings.php' file is not writable
usually it means that the permissions for this file are not correct. you should set it to writable for all, at least during installation.
After installation you can change it back.
Very rarely this error message can appear on some Windows hostings even if the permissions are set correctly. I experienced it by myself just today, and I was unable to find normal solution.
This post is quite old, and I think I made the installation for you already, but if you require reinstallation contact me by email and I can do it for you, it requires some manual actions to make it done.

Hi Guys tried to do a reinstall and when I click the URL links I get the "OK" pages appearing. When I click next on the install screen I get
'../exports/' - directory is not writable, change its permissions
which is in the red box at the top left.
I have CHMOD'd Exports directory to 755, 777, and tried several others to but it wont let me go to the next screen ?????
ideas please.. cheers

Hello,
You don't get the same message for banners directory?
Try to delete everything in exports directory and try again.
But when you got to this step, the system is installed already, only few settigns are missing. You should be able to normally log in to your merchant panel and you can specify the missing information in Settings.
