View Full Version : Old Style Link Vs. New Style Link

I understand the main difference between old style and new style link is search engine friendliness ... in order to benefit with the shorter url (new style) you have to add a javascript code to your product pages that the Affiliate banners/ads point to.

However, I did notice one positive of the old style: It disappears from the url bar after you click on the affiliate ad url

Whereas it seems that the new style link just stays in the browser url bar ... and doesn't disappear until the user clicks on a new link on the page.

Is the natural behavior, or is that a bug ... or something that can be changed at a later time?

I would like to see that same behavior in the new style affiliate links.

Hello,

this is natural behavior, because when you use old link style, system redirects visitor to destination URL. This changes the URL on the browser bar.

When you use the new style, the link is already a correct destination URL, so it does not need to be (and cannot be) redirected.
